Young Jeezy & Ne-Yo On Conan

J. Cole Honored In North Carolina

Rapper J. Cole is being honored in his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina. The Roc Nation star, who broke through big in 2011, is being given a huge party and his own weekend--dubbed "Dreamville Weekend."
Thursday, March 1st will kick off the first annual "Dreamville Weekend" in Fayetteville. The event honors J. Cole and encourages the city's young people to follow a positive path. Cole will visit his alma mater Terry Sanford High School, and there will also be a celebrity dinner and the official announcement of J. Cole Day in Fayetteville.
A Cole performance will wrap things up March 3rd. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Cumberland Community Foundation.

Wiz Khalifa Aims For Big Money

Rapper Wiz Khalifa may have made the Forbes Hip Hop Cash Kings List last year with $11 million in earnings, but the Pittsburgh native says that's small potatoes compared to where he's aiming to be by the end of 2012. Wiz told the magazine that he wants to add some digits to that number this year.
“Oh yeah, man, I’m going to make $100 million this year,” he said. “No doubt, $100 million. The new mixtape [will] get everybody ready and get their wallets open.”
Wiz is estimated to pull down about $70,000 from gigs. He's prepping his mixtape, and his sophomore album O.N.I.F.C.

Trey Songz On Stars' Over-Tweeting:

R&B singer Trey Songz shared his opinion on stars oversharing on Twitter. The star says that he wants to be more like the celebrities of yesteryear that retained a little mystery, as opposed to those that can't seem to get enough of putting their business out there for fans.
"What made Prince Prince is, you didn't know sh*t about him," Trey told GQ. "As an artist, you [need] a persona, a mystique. When you step into Twitter, Facebook, alla that...you're giving a piece of it away."
Mr. Songz may be changing musical directions, as well.
"I could make a hundred 'Bottoms Up's, but they won't change nobody's life. Marvin Gaye sang love songs to a certain point, and then it was like, 'F**k this, I'm not clean-cut no more. I'm putting this skully on, letting this beard grow out, and I'm doing whatever the f**k I wanna do," he says.

Melanie Fiona Is Heartbroken?

Somebody hurt Melanie Fiona.
The sexy singer told Necole Bitchie that she's currently reeling from heartache, despite her Grammy wins and raised profile. But, she's not bitter--and she says that some lucky guy could steal heal her spirit.
"There’s always a way to fix a broken heart," Fiona says. "But it has to start with me first. Resentment is an awful thing to have. And I believe that people can grow…So if someone decides they’re in a better place to be better to my heart, than sure, he can fix it."
But she's cool with being alone right now.
"I’m single," says Fiona. "But I’d rather be happily single than miserably in love."

Diddy & Russell Are After Katy Perry?

Rumors are swirling (no pun intended) regarding pop superstar Katy Perry and a possible hook up with hip hop mogul Diddy. Yes, Diddy is 'allegedly' dating Cameron Diaz, but wandering eyes spotted the two A-listers getting a little close-for-comfort at a Vanity Fair party this week.
But wait--there's more...
According to Bossip, KP has also caught the eye of another, older hip hop impresario. That's right, Russell Simmons has apparently cast his eye towards Ms. Perry as well. He supposedly asked her for her phone number at pre-Oscar party last week.
All it takes is a divorce from Russell Brand to make this chick the most sought-after woman in music? Who knew...

Jill Scott Blasted By Nicki Minaj Fans?

Soul singer Jill Scott's belated reaction to Nicki Minaj's controversial Grammy performance may have been simple and short, but that didn't stop Minaj Twitter fanatics from going H.A.M. on Jilly from Philly. It didn't seem like Scott liked the performance, but its hard to tell--because she only tweeted a quick response.
"I finally watched the Minaj performance on the Grammys, Wow." Jill tweeted. But she went on to semi-defend Nicki, adding: "Art for art sake, I suppose. She has the right to express herself and she took that right. Nuff said."
Apparently, that was enough to enrage Nicki's 'Barbies.'
"The only thing you need to be worried about is your calorie intake, big boned B*TCH. DON'T try it," responded one person. "Where is your music? Singing in the shower in a homeless shelter doesn't count," added another.
"You don't really know the story behind the performance, so you can't really judge it," chimed in someone else. "How many units has your most recent album sold. I'll wait," added someone.
Fans are crazy these days.

Azealia Banks vs. Iggy Azalea

It looks like Azealia vs. Azalea has finally happened.
Newcomer Azealia Banks blasted fellow newbie Azalea Banks' inclusion on the XXL "Freshman Class" issue cover. Banks posted on Twitter her feelings regarding the blonde Australian and--of course--she wasn't praising Iggy.
“Iggy Azalea on the XXL freshman list is all wrong,” tweeted Banks. “How can you endorse a white woman who called herself a ‘runaway slave master’?”
“Sorry guys. But I’m pro black girl. I’m not anti white girl, but I’m also not here for any1 outside of my culture trying to trivialize very serious aspects of it.”
For her part, Iggy took the high road. “You can’t block my blessings! Today I’m celebrating! Get with it or kick rocks!” she tweeted--without directly addressing Banks. “First female freshman. Ever. Period. Thanks world! I used to stick XXL on my bedroom door, now I’m on the cover. Life is great.”

Erica Mena Focused On Music

Model-turned-singer Erica Mena is focusing on her music. She's a mom, as well--and a reality TV star on "Love & Hip Hop." But fans aren't quick to embrace models-turned-anything--as the less-than-stellar responses to music from Amber Rose and Somaya Reece have proven.
But Mena says she's not giving you what you expect.
"Right now, it's definitely about the music and trying to figure out what we're going to be putting out, but I'm really excited," Mena told SOHH. "I think you guys are going to be surprised and won't know what to expect is coming from me. I try to dedicate as much time as possible for the music. I try to put in studio time while my son is in school or after he's home and asleep. It really depends on what's going on because all of my days are different. Right now, any little bit of studio time for me is liberating. Even if I only get an hour a day, I'm in the studio writing, recording and doing as much as possible. For me, it's definitely about perfecting the craft and making sure what I deliver is something I feel proud of."

Jim Jones Arrested In NYC

Rapper Jim Jones was arrested today (February 27) for driving with a suspended license in New York City. The arrest comes just days after Jones was arrested for a brawl in a Las Vegas casino.
After an argument and scuffle with an unnamed gentleman, Jones was maced and arrested during the previous incident.
He has since been released for the driving infraction.

Birdman Discusses Limp Bizkit Signing

Cash Money head Bryan "Birdman" Williams shared the details of how rap-metal band Limp Bizkit wound up signing with his label last week. While the band is a few years removed from its late 90s heyday, Birdman had nothing but positives for the signing and the band's comeback potential.
“Fred [Durst] reached out, bruh,” Birdman told XXL. “It was weird how it happened. He was like, ‘Stunna, what’s good?’ I was like, ‘What’s poppin, 5?’ [Fred said] ‘I wanna join the team.’ Whoa! For real? He didn’t have to say it twice. I was already a fan of him. When the opportunity came, we really was supposed to announce it at the Grammys. Wayne was going to announce it at the Grammys, but he did it when he felt like it.”
“He’s a visionary, he a great artist,” Birdman said of Durst. “Also, I want him to be a part of our staff and take over the rock department and bring us over more talent because that’s what he does. I think with having Limp he brings a lot."

J. Cole Video Leads To Lawsuit

RCA Records is facing a lawsuit over artwork used in the video for Elle Varner and J.Cole’s single “I Only Wanna Give It To You.” Artist Maya Hayuk's painting, "Sunshine," is used in the video, reportedly without Hayuk's permission.
The Brooklyn-based artist filed the lawsuit in United States District Court for Massachusetts last week. According to the filing, Hayuk's piece was originally created for the group Rye Rye.
“In or around October 2011, RCA & Sony produced or otherwise commissioned the video,” the lawsuit reads. “This video includes numerous scenes that incorporate videographic reproductions of Hayuk’s 'Sunshine.' Indeed, Hayuk’s original artwork is featured prominently in the video and adds greatly to its mise-en-scĂ©ne. Hayuk did not authorize the use of 'Sunshine' in the video. Neither RCA nor Sony approached Hayuk seeking such authorization.” Hayuk claims that both RCA and Sony are illegally profiting off of her work and she’s suing for damages and an injunction to prevent the clip from being played.

Odd Future TV Show Trailer Debuts

West Coast shock rap collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All have released the trailer for their upcoming TV show "Loiter Squad." The show, which is being broadcast by Adult Swim, has been described as "...a mixture of 'Jackass' and 'Chappelle’s Show.'"
The show is set to premiere on March 25th.
Dickhouse, the production company behind MTV's early 2000s hit "Jackass," is producing the series. Jeff Tremaine and Adult Swim's Nick Widenfield are also serving as executive producers for the show.

Yandy On Missy Elliott

Reality star Yandy Smith shared her opinion on hip hop veterans Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes' careers. The two superstars, known for outside-the-box videos and musical ideas, seem to earn the "Love & Hip Hop" cast member's respect with their eclecticism.
Missy Elliott, in particular, won praises from Yandy.
"I think what's interesting about these artists and what makes them great is their ability to keep on reinventing themselves," Smith told SOHH. "Missy really hasn't been gone, she has manifested herself to Keyshia Cole, Jazmine Sullivan and Monica. All of those hit records that you hear, Missy has had a hand in them. She's been busy writing and producing and being very instrumental in a lot of the hits that we've heard throughout the past couple years."

Drake On Beefs

Drake and Common may have squashed their differences, but Drizzy still has plenty of rappers in his rogue's gallery. The Young Money star discussed 'disagreements' he's been involved in with Pusha T, Ludacris and Future in the upcoming issue of VIBE.
"I’ve got no issues with [Future]," he said. "I’m happy I got on the song ['Tony Montana']."
"[Ludacris,] that’s a case of someone trying to use my marketing money to get things going again for themselves," he said explained. "That didn’t affect my day, my month, my year. I didn’t take any of that seriously."
And as far as Pusha T?
"I’ve been really open about my love for the Clipse. I don’t know [why he dissed me], maybe that guy is bored,” he mused.

Rihanna Subtweeting Breezy?

Rihanna and Chris Brown are both seemingly trying to court controversy. In the wake of Brown's recent scandal involving a fan's claims that he stole her iPhone, there are reports that Rihanna has let her former beau know that she has his back through the ordeal.
If Chris is formally charged, he could be in violation of his probation. Of course, Breezy's been on probation ever since he pleaded guilty to abusing Rihanna back in 2009.
And Rih-Rih, for her part, tweeted some pretty eyebrow-raising lyrics over the weekend that many think were references to Brown.
"And I know, and I know, and I know....everything u like, everything I love," she tweeted. And later added, "He wants that old thing back! Uh uh uh, he want those heroin tracks! He likes me, he fiends for me nightly."

Pharrell Breaks Down "Glory"

Superproducer Pharrell Williams decided to share some facts about "Glory," Jay-Z's tribute song to his baby daughter Blue Ivy. Pharrell, who produced the track, says that the idea was premeditated and intended to also be a nod to Stevie Wonder's 1976 classic "Isn't She Lovely"--which was also a tribute to his newborn daughter.
"It was something we had planned before it happened, so we were basically waiting," he said. "That was like our nod and homage to when Stevie [Wonder] did it for his baby, Asia [on 'Isn't She Lovely']. And we weren't trying to make the same song at all, it was like we wanted to capture a moment in time to commemorate the birth of his baby. I did the same thing with [my baby] Rocket, I'm just more quiet and private about my life."
"But he and his beautiful wife, they live a different lifestyle and for him it was important for him to stop everything that he had going on and just sort of make statement to his baby and his wife," he said. "I was honored to be a filmmaker for that beat."

Wiz Khalifa's Controversial Kiss

Rapper Wiz Khalifa is known for his public displays of affection. But usually, he's tonguing down his girlfriend Amber Rose on some red carpet or in some VIP party. His latest bit of lip-locking has gotten other folks' tongues wagging.
A photo hit the Web that features Wiz planting a big, wet one on his Mom, Katie “Peachie” Wimbush.
Pretty sweet, right?
Well, a few people were a little put-off by the photo, with mother and son kissing each other on the lips and some fans and blogs reacting negatively to the image.
Do you think there's anything wrong with this picture?

Somaya Reece On "Classy Girl:"

Somaya Reece knows that some fans scoffed at her single"Classy Girl," and its fashionable video. The sexy reality star and rapper addressed the clip, song and why she relishes defying the public's perception of who she is.
"I wanted to show people the chameleon I am," she told SOHH. "For the people that know me from my TV and movie roles, I wanted them to see how much I've grown as far as musically, artistically. I wanted people to see the way I put my music together and I also wanted to show people what a chameleon was."
"People are so used to seeing me be over-the-top that in the video, I really toned it down," she added. "It was just enough. I had a close-up scene with the curly hair and very minimal makeup. You can really see my eye lashes on there."
"I don't think people are used to seeing me like this because they're used to 'Love & Hip Hop' and how I look on there," says Reece. "It's a little over-the-top, which I like, I like those things, but I wanted to make this more of a very visual, fashion piece."

DMX Unhappy With Label

Rapper DMX's first studio album in six years may not hit stores on March 27th, as was previously expected. X revealed that he is currently in a tug-of-war with his current label, United Music & Media, and needless to say--he is not happy about his current situation.
"I don't see it being March 27," he says. "The fact that [the label] chose to tell me that makes me reconsider whether or not I made the right decision to f*ck with them. It's only one album, though. It'll be what it is. But I think [it will come out] second quarter, definitely."
"It's like, what the f*ck, man?" says DMX. "Do what you say you're gonna do -- do me like you would do any other artist. Like, d*mn, stick to the f*ckin' script, you know? Mean what you say. You don't gotta lie to me."

Robin Thicke & Paula Patton's Tax Woes

Celebrity couple Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are reportedly indebted to the U.S. government for $492,583.49. They reportedly owe for income taxes from 2009 and 2010. The IRS has issued a lien on their property until the debt is resolved.
But according to reports from their camp, the couple has already begun working to pay off the debt.
"They've already paid more than half of this and they're working with the IRS to pay the rest," a rep told TMZ.

Jimmy Henchman Implicated In Murder

Incarcerated music manager James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond is facing charges in the murder of a former affiliate of hip hop superstar 50 Cent. Federal prosecutors are alleging that Henchman had his associates gun down Lowell Fletcher in 2009.
"[Federal prosecutors] are in the process of putting together charges against Mr. Rosemond for a death penalty-eligible offense," Assistant US Attorney Todd Kaminsky told Brooklyn federal Judge John Gleeson.
Two of Henchman's associates, Rodney Johnson and Brian McCleod, allegedly gunned down a man who was accused of assaulting Rosemond's son. Both men are already facing murder and weapons charges in Manhattan federal court stemming from the shooting.

Jim Jones Maced & Arrested

Rapper Jim Jones was maced and arrested by police after a fight broke out at a Connecticut casino this weekend. The Dipset member was leaving a party at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods that was being hosted by Diddy, when he and an unidentified man got into an argument. Jones initially tried to ignore the man but was physically assaulted.
The two then began to fight, and their respective entourages soon joined in the melee.
When the police arrived, Jones fought back against the cops. He was then maced and five policemen were needed to subdue and arrest the star.

Coco Defends Nude Pics Again

Ice-T's wife Coco is once again defending the controversial photo of her nude in bed with her infant nephew that she posted on Twitter weeks ago. Speaking to DJ Whoo Kid, Coco says she still doesn't understand what all the fuss was about.
"I do," Coco said. "And I can't believe a naked body can cause controversy. Honestly. It's so innocent. Honestly. OK, this is how I started doing it. Back in the day, when I first started Twitter -- it was kind of getting boring, all this talk, all this 'Uh huh, I'm going to the grocery store,' I wasn't feeling Twitter. So then I get all these responses from my fans saying, 'Coco, we hate when you're photoshopped. We love you.' And I'm like, once I take a picture, I've been on 60 covers of magazines, right? When I take a picture, I give the picture away and they do what they want with the picture, right? So they think I do something with the picture. I got sick of this and I decided to do my candid photos and the candid photos are not photoshopped. That's why everybody loves them. So I started 'Titty Tuesday' and I started 'Thong Thursday.'"

Lil Wayne Dismisses Drunk Allegations

Rapper Lil Wayne is dismissing allegations that he was too drunk to perform at a concert in the Bahamas four years ago. A lawsuit was filed that claims the rapper passed out drunk in his hotel room and never came to perform.
"At no point [that night] did I become so intoxicated that I passed out on a bed in my suit, or anywhere else," Wayne says.
Weezy claims that the show was cancelled because of technical difficulties. The rapper wants the judge to find in his favor.

Drake & Common Share A Laugh

For anyone that still wondered/cared, the rap beef between Common and Drake is definitely over. Sure, Common said that the two stars ended their feud at the Grammys earlier this month, but a photo surfaced of Drizzy and Com courtside at the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orlando.
The two appeared to be sharing a laugh while kicking at the big game.
The two feuded from fall 2011 up until a few weeks ago.
It's good to see two of the 'nicest Nice Guy rappers in the game making amends.

Rick Ross Praises French Montana's Album?

French Montana skipped over Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group to join Diddy's Bad Boy roster, but that didn't stop Ricky Rozay from announcing some details regarding Montana's debut album. Ross tweeted up a storm regarding Montana's upcoming project over the weekend.
"Listening to Beats wit @FrencHMonTanA $elfmade2 Coming $oon.," he tweeted Sunday. "@FrencHMonTanA Debut Album #ExcuseMyFrench InStores July17."
It wasn't long after Ross' comments that Montana confirmed the tweets. "@rickyrozay: @FrencHMonTanA Debut Album #ExcuseMyFrench InStores July17. Really Doe!!!," he wrote.

Cyhi the Prynce On Cash Money Tweet:

G.O.O.D. Music Cyhi The Prynce is trying to beat back a small firestorm that's brewing after he made comments that many perceived to be a diss aimed at YMCMB and Lil Wayne and Birdman. The rapper tweeted last week that "YMCMB is mid and Rocafella/GoodMusic is kush you sell more pounds of mid but which one would you rather smoke."
But now, Cyhi is saying that he wasn't trying to tear down Birdman's label.
"Wow I didn't know that tweet went that far... I didn't realize I was that popular," Cyhi tweeted. "Y'all do know it's more richer hustlers selling mid than kush so I wasn't trying to diss nobody"

Jay-Z & Beyonce Head Out With Baby

Jay-Z, Beyonce and Blue Ivy stepped out for a day, and of course the photogs went crazy. With their two-month old daughter in tow, the power couple hit the streets of New York City this weekend. It was the first time the family was out and about together.
The proud parents were observed entering Sant Ambroeus restaurant in New York City's West Village area.
Blue Ivy was born in early January and photos hit the Web about a month later. Jay and Bey have slowly begun re-emerging over the past several weeks.

I Want To Love Like Him (By @PassPort_Cutty)

So I’m not speaking for all women…… Nor all men…..  I’m just pointing out observations that I’ve come to conclusion about from my own personal experiences…. And I’ve ran my ideas by a slew of other people and even if they didn’t agree, they understood …
I’ve noticed that men love differently from women…. Well duh…. They are different….  But I want to point out how. Now to some, its obvious…. But others haven’t quite figured out what it is yet that makes it different so I’m going to share what I think….
Men are usually more “conscious” when loving…. If you notice, men usually say “I couldn’t allow myself…..I didn’t want to….. I handle it this way because…. I do things my way to protect my feelings….etc etc”….and honestly….. I commend them for that. That’s “smart love”…. Yea people are going to counter me saying that “Love has no boundaries…..its unconditional…” …blah blah blah… but love is also blind and stupid…. Now I may not be able to define love for you… But I know how powerful it is… Love can make you create a new life…. And love can make you KILL….
With everyone having a different perception of love, we can’t label “love” on any one else’s relationship except our own…  And only from our side of the fence… You can’t even be positive that someone loves you back. Every single person is going to handle how they love someone differently… We want love to be all these perfect things but we aren’t even perfect people so how is that? As bad as it sounds…. How can we say that someone didn’t love their partner cuz they killed them? I’m not DEFENDING it, I’m just saying in THEIR head, they believed they loved that person that much that they couldn’t stand the thought of anyone else interacting with them.
In my observation….. The majority of women have “stupid love”…. “optimistic love”…. That’s the love with no boundary…  That’s the love that she loves him more than her… The love that she always feels like she has to prove herself… The love that she can’t even be herself… The insecure love that makes her think, she “can’t and won’t, and shouldn’t ever love anyone ever again in life if THIS love doesn’t work out”… The “I need him” love… The “I deserve him” love… The “I don’t care about any of my friends or family as long as I got my man” love…The “I’m gonna put my dreams to the side for his” love… The “he’ll “come around” once the baby is here” love… The “he only hit me because he really loves me” love…. The “he doesn’t have to work as long as he is here when I get home” love…..The “I know he loves me even though he doesn’t say or show it” love………
We all know that love…..and I’m not saying that’s NOT love… I’m saying women tend to “OVER” love in a wrong way… An unhealthy way… A dependent way… An insecure way…..
But not dudes…..Men got “smart love”….”pessimistic love”….  Men got the “I know what females are capable of” love… The “if you cheat, I’m out or beating you the fuck up” love… The “I’m not ready for a baby yet” love…. The “I’m no good to you until I get myself on my feet” love…. The confident,” I don’t give this love to everybody” love… The “This is me, take it or leave it” love… The “you should be grateful I chose you” love…the “Ima say it when its necessary and not burn the word “love” out” love… The “I can’t allow myself to get in too deep with you or else I might try to kill you” love… Moderation love…
Now of COURSE there’s exceptions…  It gets way deeper and more complex than this…. And in a lot of circumstances….. Much HAPPIER and blissful…but this is the common love I’ve come across….
But my personal favorites are the “You don’t know what you got til its gone love”…the “I never knew love like this love” I love these loves because they are genuine… And tested… And analyzed…
These loves are the “either we’re meant to be together or we’re not” love… The “I have options so cherish me and respect me” love… The “I love you too much to ever physically hurt you” love… The “communication” is key” love… The “I respect his/her privacy cuz I don’t got nothing to worry about” love… The “they may not be the best but they’re far from the worst” love… The “ill compromise but don’t need to CHANGE myself” love
I love that love….
All in all… I don’t wanna love optimistically… I wanna love consciously…I want to love how men love because they hold on to their identity, even when loving… That’s something that females tend to lose when “falling in love.” And if someone really love YOU, you shouldn’t have to change every aspect of yourself to accommodate them…. Just because you love someone doesn’t mean that they are obligated to love you back. People go the extra mile trying to MAKE who they love want them in the same manner and that’s how people wind up getting used and taken for granted of because they are offering SO much as bait. The person who is being captured is being drawn in for all the wrong reasons. Moderation is the healthiest way to love and live… #theend

Three-Six Mafia Allegedly Linked To BMF

A witness testifying in the trial of alleged drug dealer Craig Petties claimed that the rap group Three-6-Mafia was involved with the notorious Black Mafia Family. The witness, Torrance Hill, testified that thousands of kilos were shipped from Mexico to members of BMF. Authorities claim that Hill made over $9 million a month in the organization.
According to AllHipHop, uthorities seized two houses and more than twenty luxury vehicles reportedly owned by Hill.

Pharrell On "Project Runway All-Stars"

Pharrell Williams is set to be a guest judge on "Project Runway All-Stars." The superproducer has been announced as a celebrity participant in an upcoming episode of the show. No stranger to the fashion world, Pharrell has co-founded the fashion brands Billionaire Boys' Club clothing and Ice Cream footwear lines.
Williams will reportedly be judging a portion of the show devoted to the contestant's use of lighting technology.
The episode is scheduled to air this March 1.

Jay-Z Introduces Rita Ora

Roc Nation head Jay-Z showed support for his label signee, British singer Rita Ora, by taking her around New York and 'introducing' her to the fans. The duo hit NYC radio station Z100 to premiere Ora's "Party & Bullsh*t" single.
"I have Miss Rita Ora," Jay said on the air. "[laughs] This is all very un-spontaneous for us. We just came to see, you know, some great friends over here and play some music and you know, they liked what they heard and said, 'Let's just throw it on the air,' which is great. ... I love that. That's what radio is all about. It's about a feeling, an emotion. It's not about scheduling and planning. Let's do it right now."
"Hi, what's up -- I'm from London but I love America so I'm usually here," Ora added. "I'm so excited."
She later reiterated her enthusiasm via Twitter. "OH MY god just played my first official single on z100 in New york city with jay!" she tweeted. "Here it goes!! Go Jay Z so nervous but so excited! #ROC4EVA http://twitpic.com/8nsuic "

2 Chainz Discusses Young Jeezy

Rapper 2 Chainz offered his perspective on MTV's Hottest MCs list and their omission of his fellow Atlanta native Young Jeezy. 2 Chainz told DJ Self that fans may be in the process of adjusting to Jeezy after his long hiatus and change in style.
“When Jeezy first came out, there was so much swag in his music. Now, he’s rapping. But at first, it was like his lifestyle,” he said. “The dude came from a kitchen. He’s really a d-boy. A lot of people really didn’t understand it, you couldn’t even understand the slang unless you had something to do with the trap. Unless you’re from Atlanta. We thought he was the illest n***a around for being able to explain the story on them beats like that. But everyone else took a minute.” A
“So now that he’s rapping and this is his third album, it took so long, I think people are not just taking the time to digest that joint, because it’s a well put-together project and I was surprised about it because he put out a lot of mixtapes that had good music on it as well,” he added

B.o.B. On Tyler 'Beef:

B.o.B. wasn't too invested in his brief 'beef' with Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All frontman Tyler, the Creator. The Grand Hustle rapper said that he isn't interested in feuding with other rappers.
Bobby Ray downplayed the Tyler situation's seriousness and the entire idea of beefs.
"He just heard me on the radio rapping about whatever the f*ck I was rapping about and was like, 'Who the f*ck is this guy?'" B.o.B said. "And it ended up in his lyrics. I didn't think it was gonna escalate. The whole beef thing is kinda lame. It's like 'F*ck this, f*ck that!' I'm not gonna walk around the earth mad at some random person. It's pointless."
