Review: "Fast Five" (Starring Vin Diesel & Paul Walker)

The returning audience for the seemingly endless The Fast And The Furious franchise is a loud and emphatic bunch. Roars of applause and murmurs of “Oh, shit!” greet each car race and automotive chase scene. Those who know the lyrics to the reggaeton and hip-hop record that play throughout the franchise spit along with the soundtrack, while those who don’t simply nod their heads. Girls ignore the acting deficiencies of marquee players Vin Diesel and Paul Walker and swoon every time the former rocks a tank-top and the latter romances Jordana Brewster. As for the fellas, the cars are badass and the nameless and scantily-clad groupies flanking the rides welcome bonuses.

fast-five-review-insertSeeing a new Fast And Furious movie is an excuse to shut one’s brain off, sip on overpriced soda, and watch ridiculously unrealistic action unfold at the hands of underwritten and physically attractive actors. And no one knows this better than Justin Lin, the director of 2006’s The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift, 2009’s Fast & Furious, and the latest entry into the consistently profitable series, Fast Five. After John Singleton’s amateurish 2 Fast 2 Furious, the direct sequel to the 2001 game-starter, The Fast And The Furious, the movies have advanced in both quality and ambition, a telltale sign that Lin is emerging as an action filmmaker to be reckoned with.

Fast Five, easily the best film of the entire series (original included), is Lin’s official coming-of-age work, a breathless concoction of top-of-the-line action sequences, vibrant energy, and forgivable absurdity. It’s the ultimate love letter to the franchise’s loyal fans, bringing back key players from all of the previous installments for a slick Ocean’s Eleven-styled reinvention. Car culture is an afterthought in Fast Five, a sleek heist movie that just so happens to feature some nice-looking wheels. The script, the third of the series written by Chris Morgan, is rather ludicrous and the line deliveries are undeniably stilted, but potential Writer’s Guild awards aren’t what Fast Five is about; it’s a glossy piece of crowd-pleasing escapism, and by that measure Lin’s popcorn treat delivers in spades.

To tweak the Fast And Furious model, Lin and Morgan wisely relocate the story to scenic Rio, where the stacked, hillside houses provide Diesel and company the proper setting for kinetic foot chases, of which there are many in Fast Five. Former lawman Brian O’Conner (Walker) and his now-pregnant chick, Mia Torreto (Brewster) are hiding out in Brazil after the prison-bus-break they’ve orchestrated frees Mia’s brother Dom (Diesel) and sends the trio to the top of the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

Fast Five is a sleek heist movie that just so happens to feature some nice-looking wheels.
In Rio, they hatch an elaborate scheme to jack a drug lord’s earnings from a maxim security police headquarters. To complete the task, Dom and O’Conner assemble a team of familiar faces, including 2 Fast 2 Furious co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris and Fast & Furious cast members Tego Calderon and Don Omar. Ready to lock the crew up at the first chance he gets is a humorless federal agent, played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who drops a surplus of awful dialogue (“You know I like my dessert first,” in response to whether he wants good or bad news) with the unintentional comedic touch of the worst Clint Eastwood impersonator imaginable.

It’d be unfair to single out The Rock’s lukewarm performance in Fast Five, though; the cast’s turns vary from predictable cockiness (see: Tyrese) to near comatose emoting (see: Diesel). The good thing is that Lin seems to know this himself. More so than any of the other Fast And Furious pics, he packs Fast Five’s somewhat overlong two-hour running time to the brim with extended action set-pieces that leave acting demands on the sidelines.

Lin could use this flick as a director’s reel on future blockbuster pitch meetings. In one of the movie’s strongest moments, the director shamelessly pulls from Clear And Present Danger’s assassination-via-rocket-launchers scene to raucous effect. He frantically updates the western genre’s old “speeding train” set-up with muscle-cars instead of horses and a cliff jump that makes the famous one from Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid seem like a dive into a kiddie pool.

fast-five-chaseFast Five’s climax, however, is the undeniable main event: a high-speed, multiple car chase adrenaline rush in which a giant vault is tied to two of the vehicles. The vault whips from side to side with the cars’ every directional shift like a water-skier does behind a motorboat, smashing into buildings, bridge sidings, and other automobiles. Staged with fluidity and panache by Lin, it’s a jaw-dropper that sets the tone for every summer 2011 movie to come.

Like the rest of Fast Five, the totally unbelievable climax is the kind of mindless entertainment that snooty film purists will denounce as Joe Ticket-Buyer leaves the theater already scheduling his next viewing. That’s been the case for all of the franchise’s parts, yet Fast Five is the first one to legitimately convey a sense of blockbuster movie awe. It took them a decade, but the Fast And Furious team have finally made believers out of us.

Meagan Good Added To "Californication"

If you aren't familiar with the, um, work of actress Meagan Good, take a moment to Google image search her. We'll wait. [Pause.] So, yeah: Now you see why we're excited that Good has been cast as a recurring guest star on the Showtime series Californication.
Good will star as "Kali, an extremely hot up-and-coming hip-hop artist." Which is good news for anyone who has ever watch the mostly clothing-free antics of Californication. David Duchovny stars, along with recently cast guest star RZA.

NAACP Criticize Police At Master P Show

NAACP Criticize Police At Master P Show
The NAACP branch in Terrebonne, Louisiana is blasting the police presence at a Master P concert this week. The head of the chapter claims that the officers very presence carried racial undertones and was unnecessary. There were reportedly almost 40 officers in attendance from Houma and Terrebonne's Police Departments, all wearing bulletproof vests at the City Club. Master P., Mystikal, Romeo and others were performing.
There was also a Narcotics Task Force and a SWAT team parked nearby.
The police say they were there due to other spring break events in the area, but local residents claim the police's concentration was in front of the City Club.
“It had racial overtones,” Jerome Boykin, head of Terrebonne's NAACP told The Houma Courier. “When you have white rock groups come to town you don't have this much.”

Yes, Diamond & Soulja Boy Are Dating

Yes, Diamond & Soulja Boy Are Dating
After a few days of controversy surrounding a photo of them together, Atlanta rappers Soulja Boy and Diamond are confirming that they are, indeed, an item. The duo went on Dirty Boyz radio to address all of the speculation following the photo, which led to Lil Scrappy's mother, launching into a hateful rant against Diamond. Scrappy is Diamond's ex-fiancee.
from "Eh man, you already know how that go," Soulja Boy said. "What's another man's trash is another man's treasure. Me and shorty rocking, straight like that. [Are me and Diamond a couple now?] Yup, straight up...I ain't got no reason to lie to y'all. Y'all been knowing me ever since I first came out, you know what I mean?" "What's happening," Diamond chimed in. "Yeah, it's official. Y'all know what's up. [laughs] The long way."

Prodigy Almost Fought Jay-Z?

Prodigy Almost Fought Jay-Z?
Mobb Deep's Prodigy recently revealed that he and hip hop superstar Jay-Z were almost involved in a physical altercation back when the two were beefing in the early 2000s. P says that he ran into Jay outside Diddy's Justin's restaurant in New York City and things could have very easily gotten ugly.
“We surrounded the front door so he couldn’t get out without seeing us. So I’m standing there waiting to see him and finally he comes from back somewhere,” said Prodigy. “Him and Jermaine Dupri come walking. Jermaine sees us and he was out. Jay’s standing there with two bodyguards approaching us…He puts his hand out, like this, and comes walking up to me like this to shake my hand. So I’m looking at him like I could just really treat him like a rag dog right now like for real. So I shook his hand, ‘What’s up man?’ He was like ‘Yo listen, it ain’t no beef. It’s just music. Let’s keep it just music. There’s no problems son. I just wish you would have came and told me how you felt to my face instead of putting it in a magazine.’ And I’m like ‘Alright cool, there ain’t no beef. We can keep it just music.’"
"And I had thought about it real quick," P continued. "Cause I’m thinking about how I could just really overpower him right now with the security and all that.”

He think he who? I can't wait until he comes out with a song where he says, 'I think I'm Blacc Chyna.' [laughs] Officer Ricky!"

Amber Rose Lying About TV Show?

Amber Rose Lying About TV Show?
Amber Rose has been talking loudly and proudly about her new VH1 reality show. According to Rose, the show will be called "Behind Her Shades" and production has already scheduled for the summer. She also is opening a boutique.
Allegedly...
“Well, I also have a reality show that’s gonna come out on VH1 and start filming early June, so that’s gonna be incorporated in the show," Rose says. "My show is going to be an open book of my life and my family and my businesses and its called “Behind Her Shades,” because usually I have shades on and its everything behind them that people don’t know about. But they will learn, and part of that is my shade shop. It’s all vintage frames."
But MTV reports that a VH1 rep said that they had no information on a reality show on the curvy model. Yet another source says the pilot for the series has been shot, but no network has picked it up yet.

Beyonce Denies Royal Rumor

Beyonce Denies Royal Rumor
Beyonce's people are denying reports that the singer and Jay-Z will be performing at the Royal Wedding this Friday for Prince William and Kate Middleton (April 29.)
“The ceremony is not on her schedule and she has a shoot in New York on Saturday," a rep said. The Daily Star previously reported that "William and Kate are massive fans of Beyonce and Jay-Z."
Beyonce and Jay-Z are holed up in the Hotel Le Meurice, a lavish hotel in Paris, which only further fueled the rumors. The two are actually in France to promote Beyonce's "Girls Who Run the World" project.

Cam'ron Ghostwrote "Crush On You?"

Cam'ron Ghostwrote ''Crush On You?''
Rapper Cam'ron recently revealed that he had a hand in penning Lil Kim's 1997 smash "Crush On You." Specifically, Cam says that he ghostwrote Lil Cease's lines for the song and was paid to do so by Ma$e. Ma$e, incidentally, had been paid by Lance "Un" Rivera, Kim's labelhead at the time, to do some ghostwriting.
"What happened was, Un gave Mase $30,000 to write five songs for Lil Cease at that time and Ma$e gave me $5,000 of the 30 to write one or two of the songs," he said. "I wrote the 'Crush on You' song and they ended up keeping it for Lil Kim album but it was really for Lil Cease. The original 'Crush on You' is all Lil Cease, Lil Kim isn't even on the record."

Jennifer Hudson On Her Old Size

Jennifer Hudson On Her Old Size:
Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson recently opened about her perceptions of herself prior to her losing weight and how she didn't realize she had a weight problem growing up.
“I never thought I was overweight. I thought my old look was pretty normal. That was how all the girls looked growing up in Chicago. I didn’t have any problem with it. It makes me smile to think back to myself when I did ‘Dreamgirls’ with Beyonce. I did see all these women in Hollywood, all very slim and I thought, ‘Wow, these ladies are very into themselves.’ I loved that I stood out in a room. You knew when you saw this woman it was Jennifer Hudson.”
The singer added that her friends Beyonce and Alicia Keys continue to rave about how great she looks.

50 Cent Launching Comedy Tour
50 Cent knows business. The rapper/mogul announced that he is kicking off a ThisIs50 comedy tour. The "This Is 50 Comedy Show" will feature ThisIs50's Jack Thriller, a comedian regularly affiliated with the site.
The tour coincides with 50's launching of a comedy arm of ThisIs50, which will officially be made available on April 28th.
"This tour represents a new era in comedy," 50 said in a statement. "I've put together the funniest, most ignorant comedians you ever seen and we will travel the earth bringing laughter, joy, love, and pain, sunshine, and rain. So brace yourselves because we are coming to a city near you."

Lil Wayne Filming Documentary

Lil Wayne Filming Documentary
Lil Wayne revealed to MTV's Sway that he and the rest of his Young Money cohorts will be filming a documentary about his current "I Am Music II" Tour. Wayne was apparently inspired by 2004s Roc-A-Fella-inspired Fade To Black, which detailed the drama backstage of a major concert.
Wayne believes Young Money would make the perfect subject for a backstage documentary.
“I just felt like a movie like this [one] hasn’t come out in so long," he explained. "At that time when they put those movies out, we as the fans were interested in what they were doing on the road. Nobody hasn’t came around since then that was that interesting other than Young Money. It’s going to be real major; it’s going to be real big."

will.i.am On Hygiene

will.i.am On Hygiene:
will.i.am revealed what he considers 'deal-breakers' when it comes to the woman he's dating and he had some interesting stuff to say. After explaining to ELLE that he doesn't want to see condoms at a woman's house, he moved to the bathroom. The Black Eyed Peas' frontman hates wet sinks, apparently.
"You don’t wipe the sink after you use it?" will said. "Dry it off! And if she’s got only dry toilet paper and no baby wipes next to the toilet. You ain’t got no baby wipes?"
He's went into semi-gross detail about the baby wipes.
"Here’s proof on why people should have baby wipes," he said. "Get some chocolate, wipe it on a wooden floor, and then try to get it up with some dry towels. You’re going to get chocolate in the cracks. That’s why you gotta get them baby wipes."

Tika Sumpter Spreads Out

Tika Sumpter Spreads Out
Actress Tika Sumpter, who's appeared on "Gossip Girls," Stomp the Yard 2, and gained a lot of attention from her role on "The Game," got up close and personal with Esquire magazine and revealed some intimate details about her love life and her past as a recording artist.
"I do have sexy stuff," she said about preferring boy shorts. "But I’ve tried that for somebody else, and I was like, “What am I doing?” You put on the black lace thigh-highs and the little tiny stuff that connects with other things and you’re like, “How does this even go? How do I put this on?”
I was signed to a record label when I was younger. I was in a group and I just wasn’t — personally I wasn’t ready to get out there," she shares. "I don’t know. It was a pop group. Not like the Spice Girls, but when you don’t have any control over anything, it’s disheartening. And now, you know, I write. I’m learning guitar. I have a voice, and I know what I want to talk about. So now’s the time to do it."

Well, since apparently his fifteen minutes are about up, Dodson was busted in his home state of Alabama this past weekend. The YouTube sensation of 2010 was booked on marijuana possession charges, failure to appear on a traffic charge, failure to have car insurance and speeding.
Toiney-Toine pleaded 'not guilty' on Monday (April 26.)
"You are so dumb--you are really dumb..."
Too easy? That was too easy.
He was freed on $500 bail. His court date is set for July.

Lil Scrappy's Mom Disses Diamond

Lil Scrappy's Mom Disses Diamond
Lil Scrappy's Mom has gone ballistic over photos of Scrappy's EX-fiancee Diamond booed up with Soulja Boy. Scrappy didn't have anything but polite things to say about Diamond and her new boyfriend, but his Mom called into Atlanta's Hot 107.9 to blast the former Crime Mob femcee.
"Okay, the b*tch done got breast implants and booty shots, the b*tch ain’t real, first of all," said 'Mama D.' "Secondly, Soulja Boy is gonna come behind him anyway. So at the end of the day, Scrappy is chilling, he’s fine, he’s the Prince of the South and he got it good. He’s living good and he ain’t thinking about that b*tch…dirty, low-down b*tch."
Wow. But wait--there's more...
"She lied like a motherf**ka! Called Scrappy back, talking about 'I was just hanging out with him,'" Mama D added. "Wooooooo! I wanna put my hand around that b*tch throat. I want you to go on the radio and say 'Mama D is angry because you don’t mess with Mama D son.' But you know what, ladies and gentlemen? Her son is doing good. The Prince of the South is still the reigning prince because he’s chill like that, he’s gonna keep it pimpin.'"
"It’s f’d up how she did it--low down dirty b*tch," Mama continued. "She’s lucky I don’t take [inaudible] and pimp her a**. She gonna give it up like that, she might as well get some money for it hoe. Scrappy, Mama D, we gonna keep it G, ya heard me? Let the radio know that Scrappy the Prince of the South is still the reigning Prince and he’s chilling on South Beach, okay? With a beautiful lady. He ain’t stunting that sh*t there, he’s all good."

Mack Maine Explains "Carter IV" Delays

Mack Maine Explains ''Carter IV'' Delays
Young Money president Mack Maine revealed that Lil Wayne's highly-anticipated Tha Carter IV will be arriving in stores on June 21. The announcement comes shortly after Wayne himself made it clear the album wouldn't see the light of day before June.
Maine added that Wayne's perfectionism is the reason behind the delays.
"He's still perfecting a few things, he's a perfectionist ... changing a few lines," said Mack Maine to MTV News. "We also have a huge record that wasn't done yet. We're in L.A. right now. We have a little studio time and it should be done probably by Monday."
"If you calculate all of that, by the time we would've finished mixing, we wouldn't have met the [original] due date to turn in the album," he added. "So we had to push it back."

Soulja Boy On Cash Money?

Soulja Boy On Cash Money?
Soulja Boy's last album, DeAndre Way, may have gone glass, but the Atlanta pop-rapper claims that Cash Money CEO Brian "Birdman" Williams wants him on his label. He also revealed that if he could have any guest star on his mixtape, it would be a certain dreadlocked superstar from New Orleans.
"If I could get anybody, I would have probably put Lil Wayne on my mixtape," Soulja said. "Me and Wayne, man. I talk to him, but I'm cool with Birdman. When I'm in Miami, I be with Birdman. He's trying to get me to come over to Cash Money. I'm cool with Birdman. I feel like if I drop my mixtape and get Wayne on it, I'd really have the juice then [Laughs]. It is a possibility. When I was down in Miami for a couple of weeks recording with Sean Kingston, Birdman reached out to me. He said 'come and have a meeting with me' and he told me 'yo man you'd go perfect with everything we got going on. Whatever you want. I want to bring you over to this family, bring you to Cash Money.'"
Why would Birdman want to sign Soulja Boy in 2011? 2006, maybe. 2011? Nah.

Natalie Nunn Blasts Amber Rose

Natalie Nunn Blasts Amber Rose
"Bad Girls Club" 'star' Natalie Nunn continues to make herself look more and more like the typical crazy ex-girlfriend. Nunn is still engaged in a war of words with model Amber Rose over Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa. The ladies, so far, have only succeeded in making themselves look foolish--particularly Nunn.
"This is gonna be exclusive, you guys are going to get the exclusive right now," Nunn said during a radio interview with EI8HT. "Let me tell you some exclusive sh*t. I'm again minding my own business, just landed in Panama City, I got an appearance, I hit the beach real quick, I look down at my phone real quick and one of my boys is like, 'Yo, Amber Rose's assistant is trying to get your [Blackberry Messenger], she wants to holler at you. About what? So we connect the BBM in a chat room and Amber Rose's assistant is going in on Amber Rose. Talking about, 'She's steady staying on your Twitter, she steady worrying about what you're doing."
"She don't even give a f*ck about Wiz [Khalifa]. She's just worried about what Natalie Nunn's doing.' But every time I try to tell people what the f*ck the real is, they point their finger at Natalie. She's the motherf*cking bad guy."

Soulja Boy Was Sad Over Poor Sales

Soulja Boy Was Sad Over Poor Sales
Nothing makes rappers sadder than when nobody buys their album. Soulja Boy revealed in a recent interview with Complex Magazine that the dismal sales of 2010's DeAndre Waymade him contemplated hanging up his microphone.
Then 50 Cent had to go and open his big mouth.
"[I stopped Twittering when my sales came back because] I just needed to take a break," Soulja Boy said. "I needed to think about things. I needed to evaluate my camp and what was going on in my circle. I had to talk to my family, the label, and my management. I had a big talk with the big bruh 50 Cent. I'm going to forever thank 50 because he guided me. When I was at my lowest point in my career and I just felt like I ain't really want to do this music no more. I was like, 'Man, I'm still young. I made enough money.' My head was on a whole different radar, but he was like, 'Man, you tripping little bro. You've got to keep it going.'"

Dr. Dre, like his protege Eminem, has developed a new partnership with Chrysler. The legendary producer's Beats By Dre technology will be included in the 2012 300 Sedan, with Dre helping to design and tune the 10-speaker sound system that comes in the new vehicle.
Dre and Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine will also be working on the sound for other models after the 300S rolls out.
"Our partnership with the Chrysler Group will set the bar for the way music should be heard in cars," said Iovine. "Beats By Dr. Dre has always been about restoring the emotional music connection between an artist and the listener, and Chrysler vehicles beginning with the Chrysler 300S will let drivers hear music the way the artists intended, replicating the feel and the sound that artists and producers work so hard to achieve."
It was also announced that Dre will be starring in a new Chrysler commercial.

Wayne Addresses Drake's Absence

Wayne Addresses Drake's Absence
Lil Wayne once again addressed rumors that Drake wasn't involved with Weezy's "I Am Music II" Tour out of some type of animosity towards the Young Money general. Wayne said that the speculation is just a product of people's over-analysis of every little thing an artist does. Drake has said that scheduling conflicts kept him from being a part of the tour.
"That's just due to this world we live in today," said Wayne. "[B]ecause I remember back in the days when if someone wasn't on tour then the first thing we'd think was they were doing a movie or they were doing something else that was productive. Nowadays if you don't see somebody in the picture, then it's 'Oh, he's leaving' and he's this and "Oh Wayne, you're mad at this person' and I don't even deal with it man. I just get my money and call the shots."

Teedra Moses On Joining Maybach Music

Teedra Moses On Joining Maybach Music:
Soul singer Teedra Moses may seem like an unlikely candidate to join Rick Ross' Maybach Music, but in a recent interview with Billboard, the songbird explained why she wanted to be a part of Rozay's stable of artists and what she likes about Ross' approach as a boss.
"If they had wanted something else they wouldn't have come for me," Teedra said. "This is not a situation like most labels. What Rick Ross is trying to do is build a real label not a rap group. He [Rick Ross] went out and got Wale. He's trying to have Wale do something different. There's an audience that likes Wale. Stalley has an audience who likes him. Ross isn't asking us to change or do something that we don't already do. He's picking artists that people cling to and he works that."

Toni Braxton: Seperated, Not Divorced

Toni Braxton: Seperated, Not Divorced
Toni Braxton explained her rather unique living arrangement in a recent interview. Though she and her husband, Mint Condition's Keri Lewis are separated<, the two have yet to formally divorce. Despite their estrangement, Toni says she doesn't know when they will officially divorce because of the children.
We co-parent together. Sometimes he stays over with the kids; he’s very involved with his kids… April would have been 10 years (since we wed). We’re, like, the best of friends," Braxton says. “We told the kids, ‘Sometimes mummy and daddy need a little break.’ That’s probably why I haven’t done a straight divorce yet.”

Tyler Perry: "Spike Lee Can Go To Hell"

Tyler Perry: ''Spike Lee Can Go To Hell''
Tyler Perry finally had enough of Spike Lee taking potshots at him. The directors have never seen eye-to-eye, and Lee has gone so far as to call Perry's work 'coonery.' Tyler finally fired back in a round of media interviews for Madea's Big Happy Family.
“I’m so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee. Spike can go straight to hell! I am sick of him talking about me. I am sick of him saying, ‘This is a coon, this is a buffoon.’ I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies. This is what he said: ‘You vote by what you see’ — as if black people don’t know what they want to see."
“I am sick of him. He talked about Whoopi, he talked about Oprah, he talked about me, he talked about Clint Eastwood. Spike needs to shut the hell up!” Tyler added. “I don’t even understand it. There [are] so many people who walk around, and this is where the whole Spike Lee [issue] comes from — the negativity, ‘This is Stepin Fetchit,’ ‘This is coonery,’ ‘This is buffoonery’ — and they try to get people to get on this bandwagon with them, to get this mob mentality to come against what I’m doing.”

Kid Cudi Done Smoking

Kid Cudi Done Smoking
With the infamous stoner "4/20" holiday having passed yesterday (April 20), rapper Kid Cudi addressed the fact that he no longer smokes marijuana. The Cleveland native was one of hip hop's most well-known potheads, but revealed that he decided to put an end to his habit. [video here]
"You know how some people can take a smoke and they're good, they do it for recreational purposes, sh*t like that?" Cudi said. "People that go to bars or drink at their house with their friends casually. I was the motherf*cker who was doing that sh*t all the time, recreationally, every day, wake up, needed it, all those things. While I was in that state of mind I just was missing a lot of sh*t that was going on in my circle."
"I just felt like I needed to just take a step back, clear my dome and focus on some real important sh*t," he added. "Like my daughter for one. My family, my business, things that are important. But you know, don't be sad, I had a good run right? We got high together a lot right?"

Fabolous On Album Delays

Fabolous On Album Delays:
Fabolous has spoken up about the delays regarding his long-awaited Loso's Way 2 album. The rapper says that he just hasn't been satisfied with the project yet and is obsessing over releasing the best possible album. The rapper acknowledged that he isn't too concerned with deadlines right now.
"The album, we just started on that. I really just got a lot of beats on that, picking beats out or whatever," Fab said. "Then I lock in and attack the beats, like a monster in a cave. [Laughs] I drag the beats back to my cave. [Deadline?] Not really. I usually have deadlines but I don't. They tell you what time you need to do something, and it's like, 'Okay, I work toward that time, but if it's not ready, it's not ready.' But I'm definitely not the type that will just let something not come out. There's a couple [of] albums right now that people have been talking about for a year..."
