James Cameron Finds Inspiration For "Avatar" Sequels In Brazil

Thanks to the wonderful celebrity/civilian equalizer Twitter, James Cameron is only 140 characters and a click away from giving us updates on his sequels to the box office slaughtering, bank breaking film Avatar.

Leaving the mythical world of Pandora to join Arnold Schwarzenegger and others in Manaus, Brazil, at the International Forum on Sustainability, Cameron said he'd like to bring his actors there for inspiration. "Avatar is a film about the rain forest and its indigenous people. Before I start to shoot the two films I want to bring my actors here, so I can better tell this story. Actors could learn about the natives and what real life in the jungle is like."

During the trip, he introduced the Governator to several tribe leaders who baptized Cameron as "Krapremp-ti," which reportedly means "man who is a friend of the jungle." The filmmaker was so flattered by the gesture that he plans on using the name for Avatar 2. "If I had met the Caiapós before making Avatar," he says, "I would certainly have made a better film."

Avatar 2 and 3 are scheduled to be released in December 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Study Reveals Blacks Aren’t Getting Enough Food On The Table

"food"By Charlotte Young
There are an estimated 8.4 billion meals missing from the tables of the hungry in America, according to a “Map the Meal Gap” study recently released by Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the US.
The study, based on data from the US Department of Agriculture and The Nielsen Company, focuses on food insecurity at the local level. According to BlackEngineer.com, over a third of the 44 counties in the US that fall into the highest category of food insecurity have majority African American populations. One in 4 African American households are food insecure.
Brian Banks, Director of Public Policy and Community Outreach, Capitol Area Food Bank says that the study, “helps us focus our response to this overwhelming issue.”
“With the first county-by-county data, we can tailor our response to each community,” he said.
The study explains that there is a high number of African Americans dealing with food insecurity partly because they have a lower average median income and higher than average unemployment rates when compared to the general population.
Black Americans are also more likely to participate in federal nutrition programs. Feeding America services five million non-Hispanic African Americans, which make up about 34 percent of their overall adult clients. The US governmental Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, serves about 7.4 million African Americans, about 22.5 percent of its total participants. Ninety percent of African American children will benefit from the SNAP program at some point before they reach age 20.
According to USDA data, people struggling with hunger estimate they would need about $56 more each month on average to address the shortages in their food budget. On a national level, “Map the Meal Gap” shows this shortfall represents an estimated $21.3 billion on an annual basis.

Cover Rihanna Rolling Stone Pure Sex

She loves going to the grocery store and cooking for herself; enjoys a nice chardonnay at the end of the day; forgoes weed (or at least claims to); and has a killer story about getting blackout drunk on bathtub moonshine while on vacation in Mexico.

Rihanna says that if it weren’t for singing she might have been a psychologist, and she certainly has a deep sense of empathy. “I actually feel really bad for my father,” she says. He was abused too – he got beat up by his stepdad when he was young. He has resentment toward women, because he felt like his mom never protected him, and unfortunately, my mother was the victim of that. I’m not giving him excuses. Right is right and wrong is wrong. I still blame him. But I understand the source.”

Rihanna is unattached. “I’m not dating,” she says. “I’m not sexing, I’m not even sexting. It’s on complete nil.” She says she hasn’t been with anyone since breaking up with Dodgers slugger Matt Kemp, which went down before the public found out in December, so it’s been at least four months since she got any action. “You think you’re disappointed?” she says. “Try being in this body.”
Still, she says, there are alternatives. “When you’re not with the person you want to be intimate with, a picture is the next best thing. Well, Skype is safer. But a picture lasts a long time. When you’re alone, and those horny moments come up, pictures can be very handy.”
That said, she adds, “I haven’t gotten a d*ck picture in a long time. I think people are a little afraid. It can turn out bad.”

“I like to take charge, but I love to be submissive,” she says. “Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your shit. That’s sexy to me. I work a lot, and I have to make a lot of executive decisions, so when it comes to being intimate, I like to feel like I’m somebody’s girl.”
What else does she like? “I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned – you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs. . . . I’d rather have him use his hands.” She goes on to recount a recent trip to a sex shop in Sydney called the Toolshed, where she left with two full bags of whips, blindfolds and dildos. The takeaway? “Don’t go to a sex store tipsy.”

“[Chris Brown and I] don’t have to talk again ever in my life. I just didn’t want to make it more difficult for him professionally. What he did to me was a personal thing – it had nothing to do with his career. Saying he has to be a hundred feet away from me, he can’t perform at awards shows – that definitely made it difficult for him. That was the only thing it was going to change, so I didn’t care. But you can never please people. One minute I’m being too hard, and the next minute I’m a fool because I’m not being hard enough.”

“When I think about it, I really do take some pleasure in the negativity,” she says. “I don’t want to say turned on by it – but I’m turned on by it.”

Pusha T & Kanye Get To Work

Pusha T & Kanye Get To Work
Pusha T is enthusiastic about his current label situation with G.O.O.D. Music. His mixtape "Fear of God" was well-received in hip hop circles, and anticipation has been high for his official releases under the G.O.O.D. Music imprint.
"The dope part about G.O.O.D. Music is that everybody has a lane. Like ever-y-body has a lane," Pusha-T told AllHipHop.
"When we attack a project, you know, there’s just a general idea that happens, and everybody just gives their own perspective," Pusha T said. "Me and Kanye have been in [the studio] and we’ve done a good five or six records, and we’ve left them alone. Then we’re gonna revisit it. We’re about to go to Chile, actually this week sometime, and we’ll probably do a show and just revisit some of the records."

Game Loves Hip Hop

Black Milk Recording With Jack White
Game thinks he's hip hop's savior. Well, not quite--but close.
In an interview, the Los Angeles-based rapper expressed his love for hip hop music and his belief that there is a lack of rappers out currently that actually care about hip hop.
"I just think that every now and then in hip hop, there's a dead space so we need some substance," he told The Juice. "I think that I just might be one of the last artists that really cares about hip hop and not rap, not the culture, not poppin' bottles, not the cars, chains, broads, I just actually care about nurturing and giving back to this sort of foundation on which I grew up on, which is real hip-hop."

Lil Wayne Doesn't Bump Drake/Nicki MInaj

Lil Wayne Doesn't Bump Drake/Nicki MInaj
Lil Wayne made a surprising revelation in a recent interview with Hot 97s Angie Martinez. The rap superstar revealed that he hasn't heard the platinum-selling debut albums of his two biggest proteges, Drake and Nicki Minaj. He says he's just too busy to listen to the work of his Young Money cohorts.
"I never heard Drake's album. I never heard Nicki's album," he said. "I swear to God. I work too hard. They would probably guess it. I'm always focused on something and it captures my whole attention, I can't do nothing else. Drake and Nick, don't take that no kinda way."

Rick Ross On 50 Cent Feud

Rick Ross On 50 Cent Feud:
Rick Ross reflected on his past issues with fellow rapper 50 Cent in a recent interview. According to Ross, he only went at 50 because he knew the famously antagonistic Queens rapper was going to be coming after him at some point. So Ross decided to preemptively diss 50 on wax.
"It boiled down to what really was going on. It wasn't nothing at the time that was personal against 50 Cent, but he was attacking people, and began attacking people closer and closer to me, to a point where I had to make a decision," Ross shared. "I felt I was gonna be next on that list. So I took the offensive."
"N*ggas gotta study history. The mob bosses always get whacked at the end," Ross continued. "Sometimes by someone of lesser value, of lesser importance, you feel me? So, on that note, you gotta understand there's always n*ggas that's willing to make that sacrifice on some real sh*t. When you really step out there, and you want to get into some sh*t, you've got to be on your 'A' game. My goal is to deliver hit records. But don't get it mistaken, we are the muscle--we are the muscle."

Jessica White On Molestation, Overdose

Jessica White On Molestation, Overdose
The beautiful Jessica White revealed some dark, painful secrets regarding her past. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model told People Magazine that she was sexually abused as a teenager, and admitted that her past was part of her reason for becoming committed to modeling.
“I had to go through the hurt secretly," she shared. "I look at modeling as a savior, because [it allowed me] to leave and travel to Paris and New York when I could finally relax and be out of the abusive environment.”
White also discussed surviving a cocaine overdose when she was 20 years old.
“I was going to lose everything, but I was lucky," White says. "Because I came face-to-face with evil, and it wasn’t something I liked seeing.”

Say Word BlackBerry Messenger iPhone

According to a member of the MacRumors Forums, Research In Motion's (RIM) co-CEO Jim Balsillie, speaking at a social media conference in Toronto, told all in attendance that BlackBerry's killer app, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), will be coming to the iPhone on April 26
This rumor has been floating around for some time now. BGR reported earlier this month that RIM would be porting the BBM service to not only iOS, but to the Android OS as well. If it were to be released to other platforms, BGR reported that RIM would charge either a recurring or one-time fee for the service.
We're taking all of this with a heavy, Jerod Mixon-sized grain of salt. BlackBerry's messaging capabilities, namely BBM, are what keep most users locked in to the platform. The main lament from people who leave BlackBerry for another platform is, "Damn, I wish I still had BBM". Why would RIM give one its best features to the competition? But who knows? Crazier things have happened

Lil Wayne Talks Retirement, Sobriety

Lil Wayne Talks Retirement, Sobriety
For years, Lil Wayne has rarely been seen without a cup filled with 'Purple Drank,' a mix of codeine, fruit punch and promethazine that is both popular and notorious for being linked to several prominent hip hop deaths. But following his release from prison in November 2010, Wayne was put on probation and prohibited from consuming any substances that contain alcohol. Weezy admits that this has been a difficult adjustment, but acknowledged that prison was a much harder transition to make.
“The hardest part about it was just coming from the life we live…coming from having a chauffer, masseuse, this that and the third. That’s why it’s different for everybody that goes,” Wayne told Hot 97s Angie Martinez [video here]. He also alluded to the success that his proteges Drake and Nicki Minaj attained while he was away. “People think when you say work hard it’s just, ‘Okay let me put two extra hours in.' No, this is my life. That’s why retiring at 35 would be a life lived, because this music thing is my life. I want their singles to be hotter than mine. That’s why Nicki comes out after me. It’s all part of a plan.”

Rick Ross Compares Wale To Kanye

Rick Ross Compares Wale To Kanye
Rick Ross is still singing the praises of Maybach Music signee Wale. Ross has been high on the D.C. emcee since before Wale joined Ross' imprint, and now Ross is comparing Wale to superstar Kanye West. Ricky Rozay believes that Wale has the potential to reach Kanye-like levels of stardom and creativity.
"After spending months of my summer working with Kanye, I learned and seen so many different visions and ideas come to light," Ross told MTV. "I was there for 'Flashing Lights', when it was actually titled another title that me and Kanye went back and forth about. And when I think about Wale, I think about Kanye. And the kind of rhymes Wale has been laying down the last few months, since we been in the studio, I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a lot of similarities as far as the pictures that he paints."
"Of course, Kanye is one of the greats of our time," Ross added. "But I see that same potential in Wale."

Foxy Brown Cruise Incident Explained

Foxy Brown Cruise Incident Explained
More details have leaked regarding the saga of Foxy Brown and the Tom Joyner Cruise. Foxy was reportedly kicked off of the cruise ship for outlandish behavior--which has been something of a trademark for Brown over the past few months (years.)
According to TMZ, Foxy set up a nail appointment on the cruise ship a day after the cruise took off but showed up three hours late. When the salon workers didn't accommodate her, Foxy lost it. Security removed her from the salon and sent her back to her room, and she remained there under supervision for almost two days. The ship then dropped anchor somewhere in the Cayman Islands, Foxy was kicked off, taken to a plane and flown home.
Why does it always seem to come back to nail salons with Foxy?

Jay-Z Congratulates UK Wildcats

Jay-Z Congratulates UK Wildcats
The Kentucky Wildcats celebrated a NCAA Tournament victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels and a trip to the Final Four this past weekend. Also in the 'Cats locker room celebrating was one of the biggest music stars on the planet. Jay-Z showed up to show support for Kentucky (and maybe scout some talent for his New Jersey Nets?)
Several Wildcats players shared their shock and awe at seeing the superstar in the locker room following the game.
"That was crazy, I had to do a double take," said Darius Miller. "I didn’t expect that at all. I just had to get a picture with him. That in itself was a pretty nice experience to add on to [the Final Four]. Going to the Final Four [is bigger] by far. But still, Jay-Z. It’s crazy. This whole day has been crazy. I’m still taking it all in.”
“I said, ‘Oh that’s Jay-Z!" said Terrence Jones. "We all gave him a handshake and he came in the locker room, and we just kept screaming ‘Jay-Z in the locker room!’ He congratulated us, just said he was proud of us.”

Ciara Is Taking Her Time

Ciara Is Taking Her Time
Ciara made waves a couple of months ago by announcing publicly that she wanted to be released from her recording contract. The dance pop diva hasn't had the hottest career as of late, but, in an interview with Yahoo Australia, she made it clear that she's focusing on her right now and isn't obsessing over record sales or label woes.
“Right now, I am in the process of letting things fall how they are supposed to," she said. "It may sound crazy to you, but I have never really managed to take time for me and to enjoy my life and enjoy the benefits I have been blessed with."
“I want to look back five years from now and be happy I have set up the proper building blocks for my business to run on, even if I don’t want to perform," she added. "I am working hard on every aspect of my career, from who I am as a performer to making music, TV and films. From my perspective, my goal is to do more than just perform. To use the platform I have been given to turn it into something more, to do something different.”

K'Naan won for Single of the Year for his remixed "Wavin' Flag" and Arcade Fire won four awards.

Chrissy Lampkin Loves Jim Jones

Chrissy Lampkin Loves Jim Jones
"Love & Hip Hop" star Chrissy Lampkin recently opened about why she decided to propose to rapper Jim Jones and why she doesn't care that people don't like that she's dependent on him for her lifestyle.
"I [proposed] to let him know that I love him enough and I am proud and happy enough to display that to the world," she said. "That’s what that’s about. Eventually, we will get married. Am I rushing it? No. Of course people have opinions about me asking him to marry me, but I felt it was the right thing to do. I love him enough and I wanted to share that. It’s how I felt and what I wanted. You need to know what you’re doing with your life. You need to have direction. If that thing doesn’t happen the traditional way, it still needs to happen. So why waste your time? I figured I would cut to the chase. What are we waiting for?"
"We talk about it a lot, so it’s not like it was something that wasn’t going to happen," she continues. "I felt comfortable enough to ask him. It’s not like it was something that was never talked about and I jumped out the window with it. I knew that it was something we both wanted. I didn’t mind being the first one to step up. We’ve been together almost seven years.
"He takes good care of me. I don’t care how people take it," she says. "I get flack all the time. He’s my man. What–you want him not to? I came up in a time when that’s what men did and aspire to do. What man doesn’t want to take care of his woman?"

Teyana Taylor Laughs At Kanye Rumors

Teyana Taylor Laughs At Kanye Rumors
Teyana Taylor had to laugh at recent rumors that she was hooking up with superstar Kanye West. MediaTakeOut, a brand not exactly known for getting its stories straight, linked the two together--presumably because, well--they're both humans and famous.
It's kind of what they do.
"ok...WOW @ MTO. and then WOW @ the ppl who really believed MTO," she tweeted Monday (March 28.) "lmfaooooooooo this site got me die'n over here with the stories they tell!!! smh lol"
For the record, Taylor has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Milwaukee Bucks star Brandon Jennings for months.

There have been claims from witnesses that at least four men were seen running from the fatal shooting. The bullet ripped through his rib cage and made its way to his lung and heart.
Megatron was popular, not only for his slot on Hot 97, but also from his frequent appearances on BETs "106 & Park." No arrests have been made.

Yung Berg Teaching High School

Yung Berg Teaching High School
Yung Berg will be a guest-teacher today (March 28) for students at Felix Varela Senior High School in Miami, Florida. The Chicago native will be handling a class on democracy to help promote MTV's Rock the Vote.
Berg becomes the latest in a long line of rappers that have helped raise awareness with Rock the Vote, including--most famously--Diddy back in 2004.
Berg has been involved in several high-profile altercations with hip hop artists and other antagonists in the past, but the rapper has recently returned with a more mature outlook and it is reflected in several of his latest projects, including this Rock the Vote appearance and his upcoming video series, The Road to Humble Greatness.

B.o.B. Vs. Odd Future

B.o.B. Vs. Odd Future
Rapper B.o.B. didn't take too kindly to a line from Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator from the song "Yonkers." On the track, Tyler spit "I'll crash that f**kin airplane that that fa**ot n*gga Bob was in," a jab at B.o.B. and his chart-busting hit "Airplanes."
In response, B.o.B. has released "No Future," aimed at Tyler and his hip hop collective, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. Tyler noticed the song and took to Twitter to give his opinion on it.
Whoa. I Don't Think The 'No Future' Song Is Even A Diss. But, Ive Never Heard Him Spit Like That. Took Me By Surprise, Cus Its Tight," Tyler tweeted. "Still Hate That Airplanes Song Tho. It Has The Same Chord Progression As F*cking 'Love The Way You Lie' And That One Song By Katy Perry."

Foxy Brown Kicked Off Cruise

Foxy Brown Kicked Off Cruise
Foxy Brown's string of bizarre incidents seem to have continued. According to popular syndicated radio host Tom Joyner, the troubled rap star was removed from his Tom Joyner Cruise. According to Joyner and his co-host, Sybil, Foxy was taken off of the ship and taken to a plane.
"We put Foxy off the cruise. Let's just say she got put off," Joyner said on his morning show. "You had to really act a fool to get put off."
According to the hosts, prior to being kicked Foxy had also been "sent to her cabin" and "locked in...but that wasn't enough." They offered no further details on the incident.

Foxy Brown vs. Tom Joyner?!?

Foxy Brown vs. Tom Joyner?!?
Foxy Brown apparently thinks the entire world is just out to get her.
Once again, the former Ms. Ill Na Na was involved in an embarrassing incident, and once again, Foxy is denying that it ever took place. She took to Twitter to shoot down claims from popular radio host Tom Joyner that she misbehaved on his cruise and was subsequently kicked off.
"OKAY NOW MR. JOYNER, your old enough to be my grandfather which is why I let your distasteful comments in our interview go.... without putting you in your place," Foxy tweeted. "Obviously, u equated my silence with weakness. My maturation with passivity. Grandpa you need to learn some respect, I'm the wrong one to romp wit you will get checked!!"
Tough-talking on Twitter is sooooooo 2009. But anyway--Foxy ranted on...
"Lying a**!" Foxy added. "It was absolutely nothing but LUV from my arrival to the day I left. Hugs from Monie Love and kisses from Dougie Fresh.... I tore the stage down! That's the thanks I get?? U wait til' I leave the ship and then 2 days later your on the air saying negative sh*t!"
